Tuesday, November 12, 2024
11:00 AM – 11:50 AM EST
Location: CITY TERRACE 12
Presentation Description: Engaging with and learning from peers can have a lasting impact on international students' experiences in the U.S. and at your institution, especially for newly arrived students who are trying to establish themselves in new surroundings. We will give examples from our experiences as int'l education professionals of how to encourage peer collaboration for the benefit of international students. We will also have brainstorming time, as there are many different forms peer collaboration can take. Ideas for collaborations will be shared to all attendees in real time.
Learning Objectives:
Return to their institution with ideas for how to get new international students to beneficially interact and collaborate with fellow students (other internationals or Americans)
Have a better understanding of how to organize, structure, and prepare collaborative activities.
Be confident in ability to effectively scale collaborative activities to meet their institution's staff and budget needs.
